Our Story so far...

Lenin and I have been wanting to adopt ever since we first started dating. Once we got the wedding out of the way, we decided to start the adoption process as soon as possible. We had no clue on where to begin or whether we could (you see my husband is a US Citizen and me - just a petty green card holder with an Indian passport). But one thing we were sure of, was that we wanted to adopt from India.

So our journey began with Google (that fabulous search engine- all you require is one word) which led us to Dillon International.

In June of 2005, we started our Application Part 1 with Dillon. We got to know some great people along the way; Jynger from Dillon and Catherine Braman from Oasis Adoptions (for our home study process). We also met our dear friends - Agni and Adrienne and baby Alyssa during this process. We zipped through mountains of paperwork (aka Dossier stuff) and were finally put on the esteemed NRI LIST in November 2005. We were so excited, since we only had one family ahead of us on the list.

We waited patiently (Ok, those of you who know me better, please ignore this comment).
